More than ever, customers want to know what they’re getting for their money. One question we get all the time is, how do you do this for half the cost of the other guys?
The short answer is we look at every aspect of what we do and ask “could this do more or cost less”. The long answer is really long, but here’s a few key points:
Smarter Specs
Technology evolves in cycles of hardware and software — one is always catching up to the other. Right now, hardware is cheap. 4K cameras can cost less than $100, but many companies are still overspending on them. Innovation today is happening in software – and it’s leaving a lot of our competitors behind.
We have landed on specific software and customized it to give us more flexibility in the hardware we choose, getting better results from less gear. Our viewer runs in your browser—easy to use, no app install required. And AI handles detection, so we’re not wasting storage on hours of nothing happening.
Centralized Processing
Some of our competition is moving towards smarter cameras, but we’re seeing better results—both in performance and cost—when detection, masking, and analytics are done on the server.
Putting processing power in every camera means paying for it again and again. Plus, those cameras are often out in the elements or exposed to vandalism, which drives costs up further. We think it’s smarter to pay once and keep the critical processing where it belongs—safe, secure, and climate-controlled.
We’re not Brand Loyal
We don’t stick with just one brand for equipment. We shop around and can generally source commercial-grade tamper-resistant cameras for up to 1/4 what our competition is charging to pull a device off a shelf.
Some brands are better at fisheye, others at PTZ. By mixing and matching, we get the best tools for the job. That means no overpriced bundles, no unnecessary restrictions—just what works best, while still offering a seamless, intuitive interface.
Practical Installations
A customer recently asked for a keypad on a staff door. For some companies, that’s a green light to quote an expensive access control system. We asked a few more questions—and it turned out all they really needed was a good smart lock.
Sometimes the big system is the right call, and we can do that. But our focus is always on finding the right solution for customer needs, not just the biggest one on paper.
When upgrading existing systems, we often find old network camera wiring is still perfectly usable. If it passes our tests, we use it. That alone can save a lot on labor and materials.
Planning Ahead Pays Off
We like to take our time up front—walk the site, figure out the best spots for cameras, get the layout right. A well-placed camera can often do the job of two poorly-placed ones, and that kind of smart planning adds up fast.
We help figure out what you actually need— and don’t just throw gear at the problem.
We’re the Right Size
We’re a small team with small overheads. That means you’re always dealing with an expert, it also means you’re well taken care of, not treated like an inconvenience getting between us and our next job.
We’re small business owners too. We treat every job like it matters—because it does.
